Mastering Microflex: A Deep Dive into Shure Designer 6’s Workflow

Array leverages the advanced capabilities of Shure Designer 6 to meticulously plan and deploy high-performance audio systems, ensuring flawless integration of the Microflex Ecosystem. We specialize in configuring rooms with the MXA910 and the next-generation MXA920 ceiling array microphones, precisely mapping the acoustic coverage areas within the virtual room environment. This meticulous design allows us to accurately route clean, processed audio via the IntelliMix P300 audio conferencing processor. By utilizing Designer's Auto-Route features and optimizing the DSP (AEC, noise reduction) settings offline, Array guarantees that when the system is installed, the Dante network is perfectly tuned for crystal-clear, hands-free audio for both local participants and remote conferencing platforms.

Simple & Scalable

For Array, Shure Designer 6 is a crucial force multiplier, fundamentally changing our ability to scale complex audio-visual deployments across an entire campus or large training facility. Without it, scaling dozens of rooms with Microflex Ecosystem components requires manually configuring the DSP (AEC, noise reduction), Dante audio routes, and mute sync for every single component via individual web interfaces—a process that is time-consuming, highly prone to human error, and costly.

The significant advantage of Designer 6 is its ability to centralize this workflow: we can now design rooms offline using a template approach, visually place MXA920 or MXA910 coverage zones onto imported floor plans, and instantly apply optimized settings and Dante routes with the Auto-Route feature across all Shure devices (microphones, P300/P510 processors, etc.). This allows our engineers to configure ten identical rooms almost as fast as they can configure one, which drastically reduces field commissioning time and ensures configuration consistency. Ultimately, Designer 6 enables Array to deliver highly complex, network-audio solutions with the speed and reliability necessary for enterprise-level scale.

The Brains of the Boardroom: Microflex® Wireless (MXW)

If the live systems are race cars, Microflex Wireless is a luxury smart car. It’s incredibly intelligent, drives itself, and makes the whole experience effortless for the user. It does all the heavy lifting so you don't have to.

Perfect for:

  • Corporate Conference and Huddle Rooms

  • University Lecture Halls & Classrooms

  • Government and Council Chambers

  • Any space where you need amazing audio without a tech in the room for every meeting.

Why it’s a game-changer for modern workspaces:

  • It Manages Itself: This is the magic of MXW. The system is always scanning for the clearest radio channel and will automatically hop to it if it senses interference. That means clean, dropout-free audio without you ever having to touch a thing.

  • Clean and Simple to Install: MXW runs over standard network cables (the same Cat6 your IT team uses). We can install a powerful, room-filling system with minimal, clean wiring, which means no more nests of audio cables.

  • Always Ready to Go: The mics live in smart charging docks. Pick one up, and it's on, connected, and shows you exactly how many hours and minutes of battery you have left. No more guesswork.

  • Effortless for Anyone: This is the best part. Anyone on your team can walk into the room, grab a mic, and know it’s going to work perfectly. It's that simple.

The Array Verdict: For our clients in corporate, education, and government, Microflex Wireless is a game-changer. We design MXW systems that are incredibly powerful under the hood but so simple to use that you'll never have to worry about your audio again.

Empowering Clients

Array utilizes Shure Designer 6 not just for installation efficiency, but as a critical tool for empowering our clients toward long-term self-sufficiency. Once an MXA ecosystem is deployed, the centralized, intuitive interface of Designer 6 means your in-house AV technicians have a clear, visual map of the entire audio system. They can quickly troubleshoot issues, verify microphone coverage without touching the ceiling, and make minor, post-installation adjustments to gain and mute settings—all without needing to recall an external vendor. This ability to instantly visualize and manage complex Dante routes and DSP parameters dramatically reduces your reliance on Array for minor service calls, granting you immediate control and a straightforward path to becoming self-sufficient in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of your sophisticated audio infrastructure.
